March 10--home again, home again

I got up early to finish packing and check out. Since I mostly packed last night, it was pretty much packing the shirt I decided against wearing in favor of the black one I like. I went downstairs and had some hotel breakfast. I have to say something about the breakfast at the Springhill Suites in Boise. It's pretty good, and way better than average US hotel breakfast. I think it aspires to genuine European continental breakfast.

There were the usual "make your own" waffles, cereal and toast, as well as yogurt. But there were 4 different types of yogurt. They also had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage. There was a wide variety of fresh fruits, 4 types of juices, two cheeses, some ham, and assorted pastries. Oatmeals too.

After I ate, I took the shuttle over to the university and watched the final project presentations for the class that will graduate soon. The projects were great, and gave me a good sense of the amount of work I will need to do the next two years.

After the presentations, my friend Colin picked me up and we went to lunch before he took me to the airport. I have known Colin for more than 12 years. He was one of my LJ friends from early on--tiwonge. I have kept in touch with him, but we hadn't seen each other for probably about 9 years. He looks the same.

He took me to a burger place where the fries come first--really a french fry place with burgers on the side. It was delicious.

On the way to the airport we stopped to see the Boise skyline.

Boise

I like Boise.I'm looking forward to coming back next year.

A series of plane flights later and I am home. I sat next to some young guy on the Portland-Sacramento flight. When I sat down he introduced himself as "Matt" and stuck out his hand. did tyler same. He put on his headphones and was gone, just as I was.
