The view along the way. Malida took this while I was driving. It was a nice day. When we left home it was pouring rain, but eventually we found blue skies, and it is supposed to be nice weather for the next couple of days in this area.
We like Ukiah for at least a couple of reasons. The first, and most important to Malida, is because it has a Thai restaurant, and it's a good one. Second, it is the home of "The City of 10,000 Buddhas", which I believe I wrote about the last time we were here. We will go out there tomorrow after breakfast on our way out of town.
The Thai restaurant
When we got into town this afternoon we discussed what we wanted to eat for lunch. Malida wanted pho, but it is hard to find pho in a small redneck town in northern California. This is the part of California that wants to form its own state because the rest of California is so liberal. Good luck with that. Anyway, since there was no pho, we had tacos instead. "The best tacos in town" they advertise.
They were right--those tacos were really good. With anything other than Thai food, it is hit and miss for Malida--she either likes it or hates it. This place got a 5 star rating from her. She liked it so much that she suggested returning there for dinner instead of the Thai place. Unheard of! Anyway, we wills stop there again tomorrow after the City of 10,000 Buddhas. A third thing to like about Ukiah.
