Not one of our favorite places to eat, but some street art across the street from it. It was the perfect day to sit outside for lunch, so we did. We watched people walk by and shared a sandwich and a salad. A guy I used to work with was sitting on the same patio having lunch with his mom, and I stopped and said hi to them.
After lunch, we walked over to the nearby park and wandered around looking at things.
The park has a lovely rose garden, and we spent some time there. It's the spot where we took our picture after we got married here 9 years ago.
The park also has a library so we went in to take a look. I read the paper, and Malida thumbed through a book.
After I took the picture, the little kid who photobombed it smiled at me. I smiled back. I love his glasses.
We decided to go to the local art museum. I haven't been there since they added a new building, and I have never taken Malida. Not sure why, because it is an awesome spot. I used to take my nieces here when they were off for the summer.
The original museum was in an old mansion owned by the Crockers, who were big players in the transcontinental railroad. They built a beautiful new building about 12 years ago. I got to photograph it as it was being built, and again about a week before it opened.
We enjoyed walking around and looking at the art. There was hardly anyone there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Life imitating art.
It was a good day.
