Staying up late made waking up at 5:15 a bit more difficult. Generally when I wake up early, I kind of wake up a few minutes before the alarm goes off, so it is a gentle landing into consciousness. This morning it was a hard landing on to the cold hard pavement of morning.
There was no traffic, so it was an easy drive downtown to the hospital. I got there at 6:15, and met with my student and her preceptor. We got that squared away, and I went around and checked up on my other students who were starting preceptorships today. All was well, so I headed home and crawled back into bed and slept until 9.
I mostly cleaned the house and did laundry today. Normally I wash and fold the clothes and Malida irons my shirts. I did both today, though just enough shirts to make it through the week. Friday is a holiday for us, so it is a short week anyway. The housekeeper is coming tomorrow, so I had to straighten things up a bit so she has the space to clean.
I took a walk in the park this evening just before the sun set. It was the perfect time to be out.
I talked with Malida a bit while I was walking. She is at her mom's house and most of the family is there. I talked with her mom and Grandma on the video phone. Grandma wants to know why I still can't speak Thai.
I was hoping that tomorrow would be a quiet day at work, but I have a bunch of meetings, some volunteer event to staff, and I have to write test questions for our exam Wednesday. I think I am going to take Thursday off because I deserve it. A plan is formulating in my head.
