I had to go to the hospital early to meet with my student and her preceptor. They were both in the break room, eating egg muffin things, and laughing about something with some of the other night shift nurses. That actually told me just about everything I needed to know about how her preceptorship is going. Some of my colleagues do their midpoint evaluations by phone, but I like to see. She's doing fine.
After the meeting I went down to the cafeteria and had some breakfast, then captured a few portals in the neighborhood. I headed over to the office for a while before returning for another student meeting at 10:30. I was the only one in the office, so I turned on the music to speakers and worked on updating my transplant lecture. I am adding in liver transplants, but it's kind of boring, so I only got three slides done.
I headed back to the hospital, had the meeting, and then headed to another meeting with my financial advisor to have some forms completed for this pension I have unexpectedly received, thanks to my first wife. Interestingly, the pension administrator not only wants her death record, but her driver's license as well, which I no longer have. I put a note in with the forms advising them that she no longer drives.
On the way home, I stopped at Costco and bought some seafood, and made a nice seafood lunch for Malida. She is still time-confused from jet lag, and has been getting up at 3 am, and then taking a 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon. She needs to get that straightened out this weekend, because she is back to work Monday. IN any case, a day of work after lack of sleep is probably the best cure.
I loved the light hitting this fountain in the early morning, but the photograph doesn't really capture it. This was the first portal I ever captured.
