I'm not quite sure what to do with myself these days. I went out for a drive yesterday and ended up not really doing anything, other than stop in Ione for my favorite tacos. I only took two pictures the entire day, and neither of them are much of anything. I guess I took enough pictures on the trip to last a while.
I don't really need to do anything for the time being, or at least for the next few days. I do need to go in to work next week and set up the balance of the summer semester and get ready for fall, which starts in about 3 weeks. Other than that I can kind of relax, which I'm not really good at. My mind wants to do things.
I continue to go through the pics I took on the trip and pull out ones I like. I want to print a bunch of them up before the summer ends. I still think about setting up something to sell prints, but I don't think about it enough to actually do anything constructive to make it happen.
This is the guy who works on the Chao Phraya ferry boat that runs up and down the river. He stands at the back and attaches the rope to the dock as the boat pulls in, and detaches it before the boat leaves. He communicates with the pilot with a whistle. He was pretty good at jumping on and off as the boat was moving. I caught him at a moment when he was kicking back between stops. My guess is that he is about 20 or so.
An engine for one of the fast long tail boats that go up and down the river. Someone told me that these are diesel truck engines. It seems like they are a lot more engine than these boats need, but they all have them, and the boats are pretty fast.
Some hot peppers in the market at the last ferry stop. We almost always go to this market on our last day in Bangkok. Not because it is special, but because it is a nice, relaxing hour-long boat ride to the last stop. The market is huge--a few blocks square, and you can wander in there forever.
I went here on my first time in Bangkok, with my photo group back in 2007. We wandered around for a while, then took one of those long tail boats up into the canals for a few hours. That was fun. I'd like to do that again some time.
There are a bunch of hummingbirds flying around the yard this morning, and one of them keeps flying over my head, checking me out. I have my fountain running, and it is calming. I don't know what to do with myself.
